Bergamot is part of the citrus family and an old hybrid between a lemon and bitter orange. It is grown mostly in southern Italy and has an elegant scent with tart and sweet facets with floral and spicy undertones. It is a quintessential ingredient in colognes and an ideal oil to freshen a room.

Store this essential oil in the refrigerator, in its tightly closed amber glass bottle. This essential oil is sensitive to oxidation favored by exposure to light, ambient air, and heat.
- Not recommended in the first 3 months of pregnancy and in children under 7 years of age.
- In high doses, it may cause irritation on the skin. Incorporates up to 2% in your cosmetic preparation or "homemade" massage oil. - Certain natural compounds contained in this essential oil can present a risk of allergy in certain sensitive people when the essential oil is incorporated in a cosmetic composition: limonene and, to a lesser extent, linalool, citral (general and geranial).
- As a general rule, always make an application test of your preparation in the bend of the elbow, at least 48 hours before using it.
